EatWell Nutrition and Dietetics Philosophy and Professional Approach

to Helping People Improve Their Diet

Claire's focus is a completely natural approach to help clients achieve overall wellness which is a balance between a healthy body and weight, emotional health and an overall enjoyment and purpose to life.

At EatWell we base all our weight loss, eating and wellness programs on your own needs and goals, so you won’t find any ‘one size fits all’ programs here. We listen to what you want to achieve and then ask you about your medical history, current diet, llifestyle, food preferences and any medications or supplements. We can liaise with your GP or specialist if we require blood test results or further information about medical conditions.

We then develop a completely individual eating and lifestyle plan for you to achieve the goals we set together. You won’t have to give up all your favourite foods or buy special expensive products. We have an abundance of delicious food available in Australia, so our eating plans are based on real everyday food that you can buy in your local area - we want you to enjoy delicious healthy meals with your friends and family.

Busy lifestyle? We will give you some ideas for quick and easy weekday meals and also help you to develop confidence in adapting your eating and lifestyle plan when you are eating out or buying lunch at work. We’ll also support you to work on other lifestyle change goals and if you are interested, suggest a referral you to other health professionals and community based services to help you with these goals.

Most importantly, we will be there with you when you need us for motivation and ongoing support. At EatWell, we want you to see results.

Why EatWell is Unique
  • You know best about the changes you want to make. We’ll listen to your needs, and then work with you to set some personal goals. We will also be there with you for education and ongoing support to put those goals into practice, if that is what you would like.
  • Healthy eating isn’t about boring bland meals. We are passionate about interesting, fresh and delicious food. At EatWell we can show you where to find some great new recipes, and even how to choose foods in the supermarket.
  • You don’t have to stay home to eat healthily. Food is an important part of social life, culture and celebrations. We’ll show you how to cope when eating away from home, and how it’s OK to still have fun.
  • Healthy eating shouldn’t mean you have to spend more money on food or make separate meals to the rest of the family. We’ll help you fit your nutrition goals into your work, family life and budget.
  • Fad ‘diets’ don’t work, and many people need help and support to identify and work on other issues in life that have prevented them from making successful behaviour changes in the past. It’s often as much about how you feel and think as it is about what you eat.
  • An occasional treat such as a delicious chocolate or a nice glass of wine, can be part of a healthy lifestyle!

What is an Accredited Practising Dietitian?

It is not always easy to find the appropriate person for nutrition and dietary advice. Now the answer is simple – choose an Accredited Practising Dietitian.

Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) are recognized professionals who have the qualifications and expertise to provide expert nutrition and dietary advice. APDs must meet the detailed criteria developed by the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA). Not only do APDs have sound tertiary qualifications, they must undergo ongoing training and comply with the profession’s guidelines for best professional and ethical practice.

Accredited Practising Dietitians display a distinctive logo to enable you to easily identify them. Claire is an APD.
