Never before have we had so much evidence showing us the importance of following a healthy diet before and during pregnancy. Being at a healthy weight, only gaining the recommended amounts of weight, taking the appropriate dietary supplements before, during and after pregnancy is very important for:

  • having a healthy pregnancy and decreasing the health risks to yourself during pregnancy and labour;
  • having a healthy baby, and decreasing the health risks to the baby during growth and development, including the risk of miscarriage, abnormalities, still birth or risk of problems during labour; and

Claire is a mother to two healthy children both conceived in her late 30's and early 40's. She has a special interest in pre-conception and pregnancy nutrition. Claire has also worked with many women who have PCOS or fertility problems (Claire has PCOS herself).

Claire can meet with you (partners are very welcome!) to review your current diet and provide suggestions of areas you could change to maximise health for yourself and your baby. Claire can also answer any questions, dispel nutrition myths and provide you with evidence based practical information about:

  • improving fertility through diet and lifestyle changes
  • how much weight you should gain and how to manage your weight before and during pregnancy
  • improving your overall health before pregnancy
  • recommended nutrition supplements
  • how to meet your nutritional needs for the different stages of pregnancy (including if you are vegan or vegetarian)
  • change your diet and lifestyle to reduce your risk of Gestational Diabetes
  • make dietary changes if Gestational Diabetes has already been diagnosed
  • lose pregnancy weight and eat well after the birth
  • eat well to nourish your body during breast-feeding
